Vacation Thinking
I'm in Dallas, Texas right now for vacation. I have family in Texas and we made the trip down here this year for Christmas and it got me thinking about 2007. I have thangs that have to get done and here is where I shall declare them to the world.
As soon as I get back, I have to get some new pictures done so that I can send out my first postcard mailing to Casting Directors about my new agent. It's pilot season and I need to make some things happen.
I also need to do a commercial agent upgrade so I can lend my charm to the advertising industry and make some good money! My friend and I are meeting about motivating each other and doing some marketing together.
I am launching ActorPromo. You can see the start of my website at www.actorpromo.com. This is what I hope my 'dayjob' will consist of. I still have the computer consulting biz, but I'd like to focus more on creative ventures.
Speaking of creative, I have a preliminary goal of doing 6 short films under the DalyDose banner in 2007, so be prepared in Los Angeles, Chicago and Kalamazoo for a DalyDose film festival at the end of the year! =) On ActorPromo you will find a preliminary edit of "Field Training" which we shot for NO MONEY. I want to have that one done by January 14th and I'll post the final website address here on the 'ole blog.
Thats it for now. When I get back from my Cowboy Christmas, I'll post more.
Hope you holiday season is happy and safe!!

The Jeff Daly Hair Crisis
I had a “hair crisis”…in “short”, my hair can’t twist up the way I’ve been doing it and my marketing image is being forced to change.

What I sent to my agent. =( He called looking for hardcopy headshots yesterday so I was forced to do this sooner than I had wanted.

Hi Karl,
Hi Karl,
I got your call yesterday and it so happens that I am in the middle of a mini-crisis. The twists in my hair have to be taken out and redone periodically. Last week I thought that they were getting too long so I went to a barber before my appointment to get retwisted. Long story short, the barber took WAY TOO MUCH hair off and now I have to redo my pictures and my postcard and everything.
1. The Jeff that you met and that has been doing CD workshops over the past year.
2. Jeff as he appears today (actually, this was Monday)
3. How I’m hoping that it will twist to…it may be too short even for this.
I’m trying to wait to retwist b/c I’m hope that every little ¼ inch will help. Any thoughts on a strategy? I obviously can’t send out the postcard that I showed you before. Maybe the shorter twists will open up some more corporate/lawyerly stuff and still give me somewhat of a different look for comedy.
Thanks,
Jeff

Simpsons "Live Action" Intro...
Real Life Simpsons Intro![]()
The producers of "The Simpsons" created this live action version of the show's opening credits which will soon air on Britain's Sky One.
Why is it that we can't see this sort of thing on American Television. Thank goodness for the Interet :-)

In Honor of the Oscar...
...that I didn't win.

I've held an Emmy...posed with it for a picture even! :-) I've gazed upon an Oscar in really close proximity, but never left my fingerprints on one. Heck, I haven't even been hired in a film with a budget that would be eligible for a nomination. This has got to change...
I shot this self-portrait this morning as a "note to self" about self production and getting my own projects done. I do my mailings, take classes, have an agent, submit online, etc., etc., but the "traditional" methods aren't working for me. Hoping and waiting for casting directors to "get it" and call me in to audition isn't netting positive results. I will continue to do thost things...you kinda need to, I think, but at the same time I will devote more of my time and energy on doing MY projects and hope those will cause a spark and ignite my towards an inferno of success!
